About Daiso One

Born and raised in Singapore and the only Graffiti artist of Tamil heritage. Daiso only realized his passion for art at a much later age. He starting with writing in early 2013 during his stay in Melbourne, Australia as an international student. An assignment required experimenting with different mediums to create poster. During his research he came across a street art documentary on the world famous street artists Banksy, a stencil artist from Bristol, UK. Daiso then decided to use stencils and spry paint for his assignment. Entering a graffiti shop for the first time, he purchased those two spray cans which unfortunately were never used to create the poster. It was then his drive grew to learn more and started meeting both local and international artists in the alleys of Melbourne. Experimenting with poster making, paste-ups (wheat paste posters), stickers, stencils and finally painting traditional graffiti letters. Upon moving back to Singapore in 2014, Daiso started experimenting with letters and typography. Representing The Other Guys crew since 2015 formed by Singapore based artists. Daiso volunteers as a volunteer probation officer and volunteer welfare officer with MSF and also has a full time job where he works with youth at risk.
